TO: INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE No. 1-09
INTERNATIONAL INVESTING SUBCOMMITTEE No. 1-09     RE: PRELIMINARY AGENDA FOR THE FEBRUARY 10, 2009 INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING

A preliminary agenda for the International Committee meeting on Tuesday, February 10th, is attached. We are very pleased to announce that we will have a special presentation on the intricacies of global investing and advising by Rebecca O’Brien Radford, Michael S. Caccese and Douglas Y. Chartan of K&L Gates. The presentation will focus on large shareholder reporting and other issues that arise when investing in select jurisdictions, including Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan and Hong Kong. The presentation will also address providing investment advice without registering in a foreign jurisdiction and/or in accordance with a foreign jurisdiction’s private placement regime. Rebecca, Michael and Douglas will also be available to address member questions.

In addition to the special presentation, we will also provide updates on various topics, including US and foreign credit rating agency and short selling regulatory reforms, our involvement in current IOSCO projects, our recent Asia activities, and the implementation of IFRS in the US and FAS No. 157. We will also have time for Committee members to raise issues on which they wish to seek input from other members.

The International Committee meeting will be held at the Investment Company Institute in Washington, D.C., with offsite locations in Los Angeles, California and London. The California and London meetings will be hosted by Capital Research and Management Company. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern time (10 a.m. Pacific time and 6 p.m. London time) and will last for approximately 2 hours.
