TO: TAX COMMITTEE No. 18-08 RE: DRAFT ICI SUBMISSION ON TAX ISSUES FOR IRS/TREASURY BUSINESS PLAN
The ICI every year submits to the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) industry suggestions for projects to include in their Guidance Priority List. [1] During last week’s Tax Committee call, we discussed which of the industry’s tax issues to suggest. The attached submission was drafted to reflect the conclusions reached on last week’s call; the retirement security (pension) suggestions are being developed by the Pension Committee and will be added to the letter before it is filed.
Please provide any comments on the attached draft to the undersigned at (202/326-5832 or lawson@ici.org) no later than 11:00 a.m. (Eastern) on Friday, May 30. The Treasury Department and IRS have requested that all suggestions be received by May 31.
