TO: PENSION COMMITTEE No. 21-08
PENSION OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 20-08     RE: JOINT PENSION AND PENSION OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING -- JUNE 4, 2008

The joint meeting of the Pension and Pension Operations Advisory Committees is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time.  The meeting will be held at the David Silver Conference Room at the Institute’s offices located at 1401 H Street, N.W., 12th Floor.  A preliminary agenda is attached.  We have structured the agenda so that it does not duplicate topics covered at the Conference.  If there are issues that you would like us to include on the agenda, please contact Mary Podesta at (202) 326-5826 or podesta@ici.org.

Confirmed Speakers

David Pickle and Bill Schmidt of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham LLP will provide an update on 401(k) fee litigation.  Peter Brady, ICI’s Senior Economist, will talk about retirement plan coverage.

DC Plans in the PPA Era Conference – June 3

As you know, the day before the Committee meeting, the Institute is hosting our DC Plans in the PPA Era Conference, which will be held at the Park Hyatt Washington hotel.  If you have not already done so, you can register for the conference here: http://members.ici.org/conferences.do.

Our February 2007 conference held the day before a Committee meeting was well attended and well received.  Again this year we have a great line-up of industry, outside counsel and government speakers, including a keynote from Department of Labor Assistant Secretary Bradford Campbell.  We hope you will attend and encourage others at your firm who want to know about the latest developments in DC plans to register.

Committee Dinner

We have planned a dinner for Committee members on the evening of June 3, after the conference ends.  The dinner will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Vidalia Restaurant, 1990 M Street, NW, Washington, DC.  Each dinner attendee will pay the standard amount of $85.00 for which you will subsequently be billed.  Please be aware that anyone canceling a dinner reservation by 3:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Friday, May 30 will still be required to pay the cost of the dinner.  If you have not already responded, please fax or email the attached meeting/dinner response form by Thursday, May 29 to the Institute’s Brenda Turner at 202-326-5841 or bturner@ici.org.
