PENSION OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 18-08     RE: DRAFT INSTITUTE LETTER REQUESTING GUIDANCE PROJECTS FOR TREASURY/IRS GUIDANCE PRIORITY LIST - COMMENTS REQUESTED

 

Attached for your review is a draft Institute letter, to be submitted to the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service, requesting the inclusion of several guidance projects on the 2008-2009 IRS/Treasury Guidance Priority List.  Our submission will cover the following three categories:  (1) issues for regulated investment companies (“RICs”) and their shareholders; (2) education savings issues; and (3) retirement security issues.  The attachment includes only items relating to retirement security.
