INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANTS ADVISORY GROUP No. 3-08     RE: ACCOUNTING/TREASURERS COMMITTEE MEETING - JUNE 19, 2008

 

A joint meeting of the Accounting/Treasurers Committee and the Independent Accountants Advisory Group has been scheduled for Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.  The meeting will be held in the David Silver Conference Room on the 12th floor at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.  Light breakfast will be available prior to the meeting.  The meting is expected to conclude at approximately 1:00 p.m.  Lunch will be served after the conclusion of the meeting.

Hotel Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved for meeting attendees at the Grand Hyatt Washington located at 1000 H Street, NW, Washington, DC for the evening of Wednesday, June 18.  The room rate is $259 plus tax.  To make a reservation, please call the hotel at 202/582-1234 and ask for a room in the Investment Company Institute block of rooms.  Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible as rooms are limited.  All reservations must be guaranteed by May 21 to receive the room block rate.  Reservations must be cancelled within 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid penalty.

Please use the space provided in the Cvent registration system to list your suggested agenda items.  A preliminary agenda will be circulated prior to the meeting.

 

Accounting Policy Subcommittee

We recently reformed the Accounting Policy Subcommittee. Brian Wixted, Senior Vice President and Treasurer at OppenheimerFunds has agreed to lead this group. The Subcommittee is interested in receiving your suggestions on issues or projects it should address. If you have suggestions, please contact the undersigned (smith@ici.org) or Brian Wixted (bwixted@oppenheimerfunds.com).

 

Continuing Professional Education Credit

Meeting attendees are eligible for 3.5 hours of CPE credit (Taxation, Accounting/Auditing, and Specialized Knowledge and Applications).  The Investment Company Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.  State boards have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.  Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to NASBA, 150 Fourth Avenue North, Suite 700, Nashville, TN 37219-2417, or www.nasba.org.
