TO: TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE No. 7-08 RE: TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE MEETING - JULY 16 & 17, 2008
The next meeting of the Technology Committee will take place on Wednesday and Thursday July 16 & 17, 2008 at The Sphinx Club at Almas Temple, Oasis Room, 1315 K Street, NW, Washington, DC. The sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at approximately 3:00 p.m. on both days. Participants are encouraged to attend both meetings.
I am pleased to announce that it has been decided that the Technology Committee will have a Business Continuity Sub-Committee, chaired by Michael L. Curry, Principal, Planning & Development, The Vanguard Group, Inc. The meeting of the sub-committee will be part of the overall Technology Committee agenda and take place throughout the two days. In other words, this is not a separate meeting but rather, a formalized method of integrating BCP agenda items within the overall Technology Committee’s agenda.
The Institute has reserved a block of rooms at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza, located at 14th & K Streets, NW, Washington, DC, for the evenings of July 15 & 16 at a rate of $269.00 single/double. Please note that only a small number of rooms are available for the evening of July 15. To make reservations, please call the hotel at (800) 263-9802 and ask for a room in the Investment Company Institute’s room block. The hotel requires all reservations be guaranteed with a one night’s deposit by Monday June 16, 2008 to receive the room block rate. Deposits are refundable if the hotel receives notice of cancellation at least 72 hours prior to arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.
