Preliminary Agenda and Response Form for the February 5, 2008 International Committee Meeting

INTERNATIONAL INVESTING SUBCOMMITTEE No. 1-08     RE: PRELIMINARY AGENDA AND RESPONSE FORM FOR THE FEBRUARY 5, 2008 INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING

 

 A preliminary agenda for the International Committee meeting on Tuesday, February 5 is attached.  We are very pleased to announce that Dan Waters, Director of Retail Policy and Asset Management Sector Leader at the U. K. Financial Services Authority, will discuss the current UCITS disclosure proposal.  Dan also will be available to address questions on other recent UCITS proposals.  Dan has worked on asset management and retail policy issues for several years at the FSA.  He also represents the FSA at CESR and on IOSCO’s Standing Committee on Asset Management.

 

In addition to speaking with Dan Waters, we will be discussing developments in Japan and China (please see the attached preliminary agenda).  We also will have time at this meeting for Committee members to raise issues on which they wish input from other members.  The attendance response form has a section for suggested topics, or you may raise something at the meeting.

 

The committee meeting will be held at the Investment Company Institute in Washington D.C., with offsite locations in San Diego, California and London, England.  The California meeting will be hosted by Brandes Investment Partners, L.P.  The London meeting will be hosted by Capital International Limited.  The meeting will begin at 12 p.m. Eastern time (9 a.m. Pacific time and 5 p.m. London time) and will last for approximately 2 hours.  Lunch or a continental breakfast will be available at the US locations (before the meeting).  Details for the three locations are listed below.
