As in past years, we will have panels with representatives both from the industry and the SEC to discuss SEC disclosure policy, no action positions and interpretations as well as rule making and exemptive actions and compliance. There are individual panels on closed-end funds, investment advisers, and unit investment trusts. In addition, there is a 12b-1 panel with NASD representatives and an emergency procedures panel which will address situations such as the recent New York City power outage. Some of the specific topics which will be addressed include money market fund proposals, the reform of investment company regulation under the 1940 Act and international issues. The enclosed program provides further details. A more complete listing of topics to be discussed will be highlighted in the final program which will be mailed at a later date. To register for the conference, return the attached registration form and appropriate fee to the Institute as early as possible, but no later than November 21, 1990.
