Department of Labor Extends Form 5500 Deadline for California Wildfires

TO: BANK, TRUST AND RECORDKEEPER ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 49-07 RE: DEPARTMENT OF LABOR EXTENDS FORM 5500 DEADLINE FOR CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES

 

The Department of Labor extended the deadline for filing Form 5500 and 5500-EZ for plans affected by the wildfires in California. [1]  The extension applies to plan administrators, employers and other entities located in seven counties declared disaster areas, [2] and those outside these areas who are unable to obtain the necessary information from service providers, banks or insurance companies whose operations were directly affected by the fires.

An affected filer whose Form 5500 or 5500-EZ was or is due between October 21, 2007, and January 31, 2008, is granted an extension until January 31, 2008.
