SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 70-07 RE: OCTOBER 11 EQUITY MARKETS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING -- REMINDER AND DRAFT AGENDA

 

As we previously informed you, in conjunction with the Institute’s Equity, Fixed-Income Derivatives Markets Conference, the next meeting of the Equity Markets Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the New York Marriott Financial Center Hotel, 85 West Street, New York, New York.  The meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time.  Following the conclusion of the meeting, we are hosting a dinner for Committee members as well as conference speakers at 6:30 p.m.  The dinner will be held at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse, 25 Broad Street, New York, New York.

Attached is a draft meeting agenda.  Tom Smith, Senior Advisor to the Director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, will attend the meeting to discuss, among other things, the SEC’s soft dollar disclosure initiative.  Given the significance of this and other trading and market structure issues to funds, we strongly encourage members to attend this meeting. 

Please use the attached response form to indicate whether you, or an alternate from your firm plan to attend the meeting and the dinner.  In addition, please provide on the attached form any other items that you would like to discuss at the meeting.  We look forward to seeing you on October 11.
