The Investment Company Institute’s annual Operations and Technology Conference will

be held October 17-19, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC. The deadline for making your reservations at the Grand Hyatt is September 14. After September 14, we cannot guarantee availability of rooms at the Hyatt.

Conference Highlights

We are pleased to report that a planning group of ICI members has put together a timely conference program addressing key operations, technology, and compliance challenges. Highlights include:

  • A keynote address from ICI President Paul Schott Stevens
  • A regulatory update from Andrew Donohue, SEC Director of the Division of Investment Management, on 12b-1 fees, books and records rules, customer privacy regulations, and mutual fund disclosure reform.
  • Terry Jones, founder and former CEO of Travelocity, presenting the essential ideas that companies must apply for success in the wired world and how user-driven online services will continue to change the way products are marketed and sold.
  • Jeffrey Garten, one of the U.S.’s foremost experts on globalization and author of The Mind of the CEO and World View: Global Strategies for the New Economy, exploring key drivers of the global economy and what globalization means for you as a decision maker, citizen, consumer, investor, and corporate executive.
  • A Chief Technology Roundtable exploring the role technology plays as a change agent and the interplay of business and IT

New Pre-Conference Program

Conference registrants are invited to attend a new preconference program entitled “Building Your ICI Network” on Wednesday, October 17 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. Attendees will meet representatives from key ICI operations and technology committees and learn about important committee initiatives, ICI communication vehicles, membership activities, research publications, and more.
