TO: SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 66-07 RE: SEC RULES COMMITTEE MEETING AND DINNER IN WASHINGTON, D.C. ON OCTOBER 17-18, 2007; PLEASE RESPOND BY SEPTEMBER 14
An extended, in-person meeting of the SEC Rules Committee has been scheduled for Thursday, October 18th at the Institute’s offices. As we have done for the past two October meetings, we are planning a special program featuring outside speakers and a small group discussion session, in addition to the regular meeting agenda. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern time) and end at approximately 3:00 p.m.
We are pleased to announce that Erik Sirri, Director of the SEC’s Division of Market Regulation will speak in the morning and Andrew (“Buddy”) Donohue, Director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, will speak at lunch.
We would appreciate your input on potential topics for our small group discussions or other topics you would like to discuss at the meeting, either when your register as described below or separately by contacting Frances Stadler at 202/326-5822 or frances@ici.org. Your suggestions will help us ensure that we address the issues of greatest interest.
Additional details are provided below and on the attached schedule of events.
A cocktail reception and dinner will be held the evening of Wednesday, October 17th at a restaurant near the Institute’s offices. If you plan to attend, please register as directed below. All participants will be charged $85. Please note that if you cancel within 48 hours of the reception and dinner, your payment will not be refunded.
ICI has recently instituted online registration for committee meetings and associated dinners. To register for the SEC Rules Committee meeting and dinner, please visit our registration site at http://members.ici.org/reg/secrules. To assist our planning, we request that you register by September 14th.
In completing the online registration form, please provide any suggested topics for the small group discussions, and any other items that you would like to discuss at the meeting, in the spaces provided for those purposes.
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza, 14th & K Streets, N.W., Washington, D.C. for the evening of October 17th at a rate of $289.00 per night. To make reservations, please call the hotel at 202/682-0111 and mention that you are an Investment Company Institute meeting attendee. Please note that due to the limited number of rooms, all reservations must be guaranteed by September 17, 2007 to receive the discounted rate. Reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours in advance to avoid penalty.
We look forward to seeing you on October 17th and 18th.
