TO: RISK MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 2-07 RE: RMAC TO HOLD IN-PERSON MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 19TH IN WASHINGTON, DC
An in-person meeting of the Institute’s Risk Management Advisory Committee has been scheduled at the Institute’s offices in Washington, DC on Wednesday, September 19th from approximately 12:00 to 2:30. (The Institute is located at 1401 H Street, NW, 12th Floor.) Lunch will be served starting at noon, with the committee meeting starting at 12:30.
During the meeting we plan to discuss the following items:
- Completion of the RMAC’s first working group project. The result of this project is the paper, Chief Risk Officers in the Mutual Fund Industry, Who Are They and What is Their Role Within the Organization? This paper is currently being printed and will be broadly distributed to the Institute’s members shortly.
- The RMAC’s next working group project. Consistent with previous discussions of the RMAC, the group’s second project is expected to focus on educating fund boards about risk management. At the meeting, we will discuss what we expect as the deliverable on this project, how we plan to accomplish such deliverable, and the project’s time frame.
- The Institute’s comments on Risk Principles for Asset Managers. A draft of this paper has been published by the Buy Side Risk Managers Forum (BSRMF) and the Capital Market Risk Advisors. * The BSMRF has sought the Institute’s comments on the paper. The meeting will provide an opportunity for the Committee both to hear from the members of the RMAC who participated in the BSMRF’s working group and determine the Institute’s comments on the draft.
Additional Committee Business. We also plan to discuss the Committee’s future meetings, projects, and direction, as well as any additional issues of interest to the Committee’s members.
