UNIT INVESTMENT TRUST COMMITTEE No. 6-07     RE: ICI LAUNCHES MUNICIPAL SECURITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Institute has formed a new advisory committee, the “Municipal Securities Advisory Committee,” to examine the legal, regulatory and legislative issues affecting the municipal securities markets.  The Committee will examine the implications of changes to, and developments in, these markets and will provide a forum for members to discuss particular policy objectives and to undertake projects related to municipal securities.

The first meeting of the Municipal Securities Advisory Committee will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 in New York.  Please note that the meeting will be held in conjunction with the ICI Equity, Fixed-Income & Derivatives Markets Conference to be held in New York on October 12, 2007, which will include several speakers from the MSRB and will feature a panel focused on municipal securities issues.  Further information about the conference and the conference program can be found at http://members.ici.org/conferences/main.do?id=EQU07.

Those members that have persons interested in serving on the Municipal Securities Advisory Committee should contact Heather Traeger by phone at 202-326-5920 or by e-mail at htraeger@ici.org to be added to the Committee roster.  Similarly, if you have any questions about the Committee, please contact Heather Traeger or the undersigned.
