Attached for your review is a draft Institute letter, to be submitted to the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service, requesting the inclusion of several guidance projects on the 2007-2008 IRS/Treasury Guidance Priority List. The requested guidance projects cover three categories: (1) issues for regulated investment companies (“RICs”) and their shareholders; (2) education savings issues; and (3) retirement security issues.
This draft letter is based upon comments developed during conference calls with Institute members. If you have any comments on this draft, please provide them to the Institute staff by the close of business on Wednesday, May 30, 2007.
