TO: TAX COMMITTEE No. 13-07     RE: TAX COMMITTEE AND WASHINGTON REPS CONFERENCE CALL TO DISCUSS COST BASIS REPORTING - THURSDAY, APRIL 12 AT 2:00 PM EDT

 

A joint conference call with the Tax Committee and the Washington Representatives will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at 2:00 pm EDT to discuss legislative proposals on cost basis reporting.  We plan to address the following issues:

 

• Effective date (e.g., shares/accounts acquired after effective date; year effective)
• Basis calculation (e.g., wash sales, sales load basis deferral, returns of capital)
• Alternative approaches for dealing with gifted and inherited shares
• Other issues
