(1) The attached description of The Nightly Business Report's
monthly segment on mutual funds was given to me last week by Jack
Kahn, a senior producer, during a visit with that program's
staff.
As you are probably know, the show is produced at the studios of
WPBT in Miami, and appears on over 260 public TV stations around
the nation five evenings of each week.
Kahn is responsible for the mutual fund segment, and is therefore
the person to contact about having one of your fund managers on
the show.
(2) It is a pleasure to inform you that we have hired John
Collins to join the Media Relations section of the Institute's
Public Information and Marketing Department.
John has had a distinguished career in journalism, including more
than 12 years on the staff of U.S. News and World Report, mostly
as a specialist on economic matters. He has also written and
reported for AP, UPI, and WTOP Radio. During the past three years
John has been an editor of Insight magazine, based here in
Washington.
