TO: INTERNAL AUDIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 1-07 RE: COMMITTEE DINNER AND MEETING TO BE HELD IN WASHINGTON, DC ON MAY 7TH AND 8TH
The next meeting of the Institute’s Internal Audit Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 8th from 10 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. at the offices of the ICI, 1401 H Street, NW, 12th Floor, Washington, D.C. At 7:30 p.m. on the night preceding the meeting, there will be an informal dinner of the Committee. Further details regarding this dinner will be provided to attendees at a later date. All persons attending the dinner will be billed for their portion of the total cost.
We are pleased to announce two guest speakers for the Committee meeting on May 8th. Emily Emigh, a former member of the Committee, will be discussing Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs). Also, John Walsh, Chief Counsel of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, will again address the Committee on an informal basis and answer members’ questions about the SEC and their inspection process. We are also expecting an update from Tom Kuecks regarding his recent survey of the Committee. As with the prior meeting of the Committee, the remainder of the agenda will be comprised of issues that the Committee members identify as ones they would like to discuss with their colleagues. To assist us in putting together the agenda, we are again asking each attendee to provide us at least one question or issue that you would like to have discussed at the meeting. In addition, if there are any issues you would like to hear more about from the ICI staff, please let us know that as well. A draft agenda will be provided to members in advance of the meeting.
Please let us know by email (srichardson@ici.org) or by faxing the attached sheet (1) whether you plan to attend the dinner on May 7th and the meeting on May 8th and (2) the issue(s) you would like to have discussed at the meeting.
I look forward to seeing you in May and receiving your agenda suggestions prior to the meeting!
Mario Catanese
Chairman
