INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANTS ADVISORY GROUP No. 1-07     RE: ACCOUNTING/TREASURERS COMMITTEE MEETING - MARCH 8, 2007

 

This is to inform you that there will be a joint meeting of the Accounting/Treasurers Committee and the Independent Accountants Advisory Group on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute.  The ICI is located at 1401 H Street, NW, in Washington, DC.  The meeting will take place in the David Silver Conference Room, which is located on the twelfth floor.

 

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Light breakfast will be available prior to the meeting. The meeting is expected to run until 1:00 p.m. and lunch will be served after the conclusion of the meeting.  We have invited accounting staff from the Division of Investment Management to attend the meeting and update the Committee on current SEC financial reporting issues. 

 

For your convenience, we have reserved a block of rooms at the J.W. Marriott Hotel for the night of Wednesday, March 7 at the rate of $289.  The J.W. Marriott is located at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. in Washington, D.C.  To make a reservation, please call the Marriott at 202/393-2000 or 800/228-9290 by February 14th and ask for a room in the Investment Company Institute Group block of rooms.

 

If you plan to attend the meeting, please complete the attached meeting response form and return it to Agnes Thomas by fax (202/326-8314) or let her know via email (agnes@ici.org) that you plan to attend.  Please let us know whether you plan to attend the meeting by February 28.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credit

 

Meeting attendees are eligible for approximately 3 hours of CPE credit (Taxation; Accounting/Auditing; and Specialized Knowledge and Applications). The Investment Company Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to NASBA, 150 Fourth Avenue North, Suite 700, Nashville, TN 37219-2417, www.nasba.org.
