[20703] December 19, 2006 TO: ETF ADVISORY COMMITTEE SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 55-06 RE: FIRST MEETING OF THE ETF ADVISORY COMMITTEE The Institute has formed an ETF Advisory Committee to examine regulatory and legislative issues affecting exchange-traded funds. The first meeting of the Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Friday, January 26th, 2007 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC. The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time and end no later than 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. In light of the SEC’s plans to publish an ETF rule proposal in the near term, we have invited a representative of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management to attend part of the meeting to discuss the issues that may be addressed in such proposal. With respect to the rest of the meeting agenda, we invite those planning to attend the meeting to suggest topics or issues that you would like to discuss with your colleagues. Based upon the responses we receive, we will develop an agenda tailored to the interests of the Committee, which will be circulated prior to the meeting. Please complete and return the attached form if you or another representative from your organization plan to attend the meeting. A space is provided for suggested agenda items. Future communications regarding ETF Advisory Committee matters will be addressed only to members of the Advisory Committee. If you would like to join the Committee and have not already notified us, please contact Mara Shreck at mshreck@ici.org or 202/326-5923. A list of organizations currently represented on the Committee is attached. Mara Shreck Assistant Counsel Attachment (in .pdf format)
