[20541] November 3, 2006 TO: SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 49-06 VARIABLE INSURANCE PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 9-06 RE: NOTICE OF MEETING OF VARIABLE INSURANCE PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE - DECEMBER 5, 2006 A meeting of the Variable Insurance Products Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. Please note that this meeting will take place following the conclusion of the Institute’s Securities Law Developments Conference to be held on December 5-6. Susan Nash, Associate Director in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, will attend the meeting to address the Committee regarding variable insurance products initiatives at the SEC, as well as to discuss the Committee’s views on issues relating to variable insurance products. We anticipate that the meeting will conclude no later than 4:00 p.m. For this meeting only, we will provide the ability for members to participate in the meeting by phone. However, we strongly encourage all participants to attend the meeting in person to facilitate a more robust discussion of the issues. A draft committee meeting agenda will follow under separate cover. Please indicate on the attached response form whether you, or an alternate from your firm, plan to attend the meeting in person or by phone. In addition, please provide on the form any items that you would like to discuss at the meeting. We look forward to seeing you on December 5.
