[20263] August 9, 2006 TO: BROKER/DEALER ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 29-06 RE: BDAC MEETING NOTICE - OCTOBER 8, 2006 The next meeting of the Broker/Dealer Advisory Committee will take place on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach located at 21500 Pacific Coast Highway, in Huntington Beach, CA. The meeting will take place prior to the 2006 Operations and Technology Conference, which will also be held at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach from October 8-11. Lunch will be available at noon, the meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m., and is expected to conclude by 5:00 p.m. Attire for the meeting is business casual. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS Please make your hotel reservations ASAP by calling the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach at 714/698-1234 prior to the cutoff date of September 8, 2006. Identify yourself as an Investment Company Institute conference attendee to receive the conference room rate of $229 (single or double) plus tax. Reservations are to be guaranteed by one night’s deposit or by a major credit card. Cancellations must be received by the hotel at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled arrival date to avoid penalty. When canceling, please note and retain the cancellation number quoted to you by the reservations agent. COMMITTEE RECEPTION ON OCTOBER 8 A committee reception will be held immediately following the meeting from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Hyatt Regency. Further details regarding the reception will be forthcoming. Kindly take note that the Institute’s policy is to bill individual committee members who choose to attend for their portion of the event. Please note that if you confirm attendance for the BDAC reception and cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled event, you will still be charged for your portion of the pre-arranged event. 2 AGENDA & RESPONSE FORM We need to get your input on “shop talk” discussion items and agenda topics for the meeting. Please use the attached form to list your ideas and suggestions or e-mail Kathy Joaquin (kjoaquin@ici.org) or Nino Palermo (Nino_Palermo@capgroup.com). Our experience indicates that if topics are circulated in advance, the value of the discussion is considerably enhanced. A preliminary agenda and shop talk discussion topics will be circulated to the committee approximately two weeks before the meeting. A meeting response form is attached. Please complete the form and indicate whether or not you or a representative of your firm will be attending the committee meeting and the committee reception on October 8th.
