[19902] March 31, 2006 TO: BOARD OF GOVERNORS No. 12-06 INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE No. 7-06 INTERNATIONAL INVESTING SUBCOMMITTEE No. 6-06 INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 7-06 RE: ICI TO END CO-SPONSORSHIP OF GLOBALISATION CONFERENCE For the past fifteen years, the ICI has co-sponsored the Globalisation of Mutual Funds Conference with the International Bar Association. This annual event, which has come to be known as the “Bermuda Conference,” has brought fund industry lawyers, business people, accountants, and other service providers together early each May to address topics of interest to the global mutual fund industry. As you may know, this will be the last year that the Institute will co-sponsor this conference. Our decision to end our co-sponsorship is not a reflection on the value of the conference, nor on our relationship with the IBA. We are proud of our association with this conference and the IBA over many years. Our decision to end the co-sponsorship reflects our judgment that we can serve our membership and advance our international agenda more effectively in other ways. We will continue to consult with members in this regard, and will keep you advised of our plans. We remain committed to a successful conference in 2006, and ICI staff do look forward to seeing you in Bermuda in May. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (202) 326-5901 or Bob Grohowski at (202) 371-5430 if you have any questions. Paul Schott Stevens President
