RE: MAY 30, 1990 INFORMATION REPORTING MEETING

A meeting will be held at the Institute on Wednesday, May
30, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss several issues relating
generally to information reporting and tax compliance. Lunch
will be served following the meeting.
Discussion items will include the "reasonable cause"
defense to the $50 penalty for failure to file correct
information returns, the B Notice program and the revised
information reporting penalty system. Please call David
Mangefrida (at 202/955-3521) or me (at 202/955-3585) to discuss
any additional items that you would like to have considered.
