[19182] September 22, 2005 TO: BROKER/DEALER ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 30-05 RE: BDAC MEETING NOTICE - OCTOBER 26, 2005 The next meeting of the Broker/Dealer Advisory Committee will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin, TX. The meeting will follow the 2005 Operations and Technology Conference, which will also be held at the Hyatt Regency Austin from October 23-25. The meeting will be held in Texas 1, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude by 1:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Attire for the meeting is business casual. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS For the convenience of those who do not have room reservations at the Hyatt Regency Austin, we have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Four Seasons Hotel for the night of October 25th at the rate of $235.00. The Four Seasons Hotel is located at 98 San Jacinto Boulevard, Austin, TX and is a 10-minute walk from the Hyatt Austin. To make reservations please call 512/685-8100 and ask for a room in the Investment Company Institute block. Reservations must be made by September 28, 2005 to secure the room rate of $235. Reservations must be cancelled within 24 hours prior to day of arrival to avoid penalty. It is our understanding that the Hyatt Regency Austin is currently sold out. However, please feel free to contact the Hyatt Regency Austin at 512/477-1234 should you wish to see if rooms are available. COMMITTEE DINNER ON OCTOBER 25 A committee dinner will be held the evening of October 25th at Louie’s 106 located at 106 E Sixth Street, Austin, TX, (PH: 512-476-1997 & -1998). There will be a reception at 6:30 and dinner will start at 7:30. Louie’s 106 is within walking distance or a short cab ride from either the Hyatt Regency (approximately 10 blocks) or the Four Seasons Hotel (approximately 7 blocks). All participants will be billed for their portion of the dinner. Please note that if you confirm attendance for the BDAC dinner and cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled event, you will still be charged for your portion of the pre-arranged event. 2 AGENDA & RESPONSE FORM We need to get your input on “shop talk” discussion items and agenda topics for the meeting. Please use the attached form to list your ideas and suggestions or e-mail Kathy Joaquin (kjoaquin@ici.org) or Nino Palermo (Nino_Palermo@capgroup.com). Our experience indicates that if topics are circulated in advance, the value of the discussion is considerably enhanced. A preliminary agenda and shop talk discussion topics will be circulated to the committee approximately two weeks before the meeting. A meeting response form is attached. Please complete the form and indicate whether or not you or a representative of your firm will be attending the committee meeting on October 26th and the committee dinner on October 25th.
