RE: NEW FAX SYSTEM

As was announced at the April 18 meeting of the Committee,
we have developed a special FAX system for members of the Public
Information Committee. This new system will enable us to provide
you with faster access to Institute anouncements or information
on how we are responding to the news media in a crisis situation
than was generally possible in the past.
It will also be helpful in providing you with fast access
to information generated by the new subcommittees which Steve
Norwitz discusses in his accompanying memo.
Yesterday we used the new FAX system for the first time by
sending you a copy of our news release on Dave Silver's testimony
on financial restructuring. Please let me know if you did not
receive a copy of that release by FAX.
Also, if you feel that you DO NOT need to receive
information through this FAX system, please let me know.
I hope to see you in a couple of weeks at the General
Membership Meeting.
