RE: BTAC MEETING NOTICE - JUNE 10, 2004
The next meeting of the Bank and Trust Advisory Committee will be held on Thursday,
June 10, 2004 at the offices of American Century (Tower 2, Conference Room 2-A) located at
4500 Main Street in Kansas City, MO. Continental breakfast will be served at 8:00 a.m. and the
meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and the meeting is expected to
conclude by 3:00 p.m. Attire for the meeting is business casual.
Hotel Accommodations
We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Raphael Hotel, for the nights of June 8 & 9
at the rate of $144 plus tax. To make reservations please call 800-821-5343 or 816-756-3800 and
ask for a room in the Investment Company Institute block. Reservations must be made by May
21 to secure the room rate of $144.
The Raphael Hotel is located at 325 Ward Parkway (at Wornall Road - on the Country
Club Plaza), Kansas City, MO. It is approximately 35 minutes by car/cab (24 miles) from the
Kansas City International Airport and 15 minutes (5 miles) from the Downtown Airport.
American Century is within walking distance from the hotel. For more information about the

Committee Dinner on June 9
There will be a Committee dinner on Wednesday, June 9th at Plaza III Steakhouse located
at 4749 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City. The restaurant’s phone number is 816-753-0000.
Dinner will start at 7:00. The Institute’s policy is to bill individual committee members who
choose to attend for their portion of the dinner. Attire for the dinner is business casual. The
restaurant is within walking distance from the hotel but transportation will be available in case
of inclement weather. Please note that if you confirm attendance for the BTAC dinner and
cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled event, you will still be charged for your portion of the
pre-arranged dinner.

We need to get your input on agenda items for the meeting. Please use the attached
form to list your ideas and suggestions or e-mail Kathy Joaquin (kjoaquin@ici.org). Our
experience indicates that if discussion topics are circulated in advance, the value of the
discussion is considerably enhanced.
