ABANDONED PROPERTY TASK FORCE
RE: LETTERS TO SHAREHOLDERS CONCERNING NY ABANDONED PROPERTY LAW

We recently sent you a memorandum regarding the New York
Abandoned Property Law in which we requested that you write to
shareholders to (1) obtain their written confirmation that their
accounts are not abandoned and (2) urge them to write to New York
State officials in support of S.6887/A.9300, legislation recently
introduced in The New York Legislature to correct the current
law. (See Memorandum to Members - One Per Complex No. 5-90 and
Abandoned Property Task Force, dated February 13, 1990.) We
would appreciate receiving a copy of your letter to shareholders
and any letters that you have from shareholders to state
officials in support of the legislation.
