RE: CONFERENCE CALL REGARDING NEW U.S.-JAPAN INCOME TAX TREATY --

The new U.S.-Japan income tax treaty will be signed this Thursday at 4:30 pm. After the
signing, a copy of the treaty should be available on the Treasury website (www.treas.gov).
There will be a conference call Friday, November 7th, at 2:00 pm (Eastern) to discuss the
new U.S.-Japan treaty and other developments concerning the taxation of Japanese investors in
offshore funds. If you would like to participate in the call, please dial in to 800-475-4977 and
enter the access code 28566. In addition, if you plan to participate in the call, please fill out the
