UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR OCTOBER 10 AND 11 MEETINGS IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

[15192] September 24, 2002 TO: PENSION COMMITTEE No. 39-02 PENSION OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 63-02 RE: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR OCTOBER 10 AND 11 MEETINGS IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA We are pleased to announce a luncheon following the Pension and Pension Operations Advisory Committee meeting on October 11 that will feature Geoff Bobroff, President of Bobroff Consulting, who will discuss “Distribution Challenges Facing the Retirement Plan Market.” In addition to Mr. Bobroff, the luncheon will feature speakers from Deloitte & Touche discussing “Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Challenges.” As we previously announced, the October meetings will be held in San Francisco, California at the offices of Capital Research and Management (One Market, Steuart Tower, Suite 1800 – at the corner of Market and Steuart Streets) on October 10 and 11, 2002. October 10 Subcommittee Meeting The subcommittee meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 and will involve a detailed discussion of pension reform proposals and our legislative agenda for 2003. October 11 Committee Meeting and Luncheon Meeting With California ’40 Acts Group The regular meeting of the Joint Committees, which will focus on both ongoing projects and current developments, will now begin on Friday, October 11 at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 11:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served. The luncheon, sponsored jointly with the California ’40 Acts Group and hosted by Deloitte & Touche, will begin at noon at the University Club Main Dining Room – 3rd Floor, 800 Powell Street, San Francisco, California. Hotel Information There are three hotels in the vicinity of the offices of Capital Research and Management: Hyatt Regency San Francisco (415-788-1234); Argent Hotel (415-974-6400); and San Francisco Marriott (415-896-1600).
