The conference will be held in Singapore, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, November 12-14, 2002. This conference will address a variety of legal and regulatory issues in Asia. Our program includes a Meet the Regulators session and panel discussions on China, Japan, Challenges in Foreign Investing, and Pension Systems in Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. In addition, there will be a panel discussion on Globalization and the Regulatory Implications of Events in Other Markets and a panel focused on Three Developing Mutual Fund Industries: Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. We also expect to hold breakfast discussion sessions focusing on Australia, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Korea, and Taiwan. Each discussion group will be limited to 20-25 participants to encourage greater interaction, so you must indicate your first, second, and third choices on the registration form. The conference speakers will represent a cross-section of mutual fund senior business executives, attorneys, accountants and regulators from the Asia region as well as the U.S. Conference attendees also will represent a wide number of different disciplines from different geographic locations. The day preceding the conference the Institute will offer a complimentary workshop for securities regulators in the region. The conference will provide an opportunity not only to discuss asset management issues specific to Asia but also for private industry to interact with securities regulators from significant Asian countries.
