[14412] January 30, 2002 TO: INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 3-02 RE: THIRTEENTH ANNUAL GLOBALISATION OF MUTUAL FUNDS CONFERENCE, APRIL 28 - MAY 1, 2002 Attached is the conference brochure for the thirteenth annual conference on the Globalisation of Mutual Funds, to be held in Bermuda at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel, April 28 – May 1, 2002. This conference is co-sponsored by the Investment Company Institute and the International Bar Association. This year’s conference will address a variety of global issues from both legal and business perspectives. Our program includes panels on the roles and duties of intermediaries, outsourcing issues, current tax issues, the valuation of globally invested portfolios, and multi- manager and funds of funds structures. There also will be a panel comprised of regulators from leading jurisdictions. In addition to our panel discussions, the program for Tuesday and Wednesday morning includes a series of breakfast roundtable discussions on topics ranging from current trends in fund locations to the use of the Internet. Each discussion group will be limited to 20-25 participants to encourage greater interaction, so you must indicate your first, second and third choices on the registration form. Conference attendees are encouraged to participate in these sessions on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. As in past years, conference speakers will represent a cross-section of mutual fund business executives, attorneys, and regulators from the U.S. and a variety of other countries. Conference attendees also represent a wide array of disciplines from different geographic locations. Ample opportunity will be provided for social interaction among attendees and speakers.
