CONGRESSMAN THOMAS J. MANTON TO ADDRESS FEDERAL LEGISLATION COMMITTEE AND BOARD OF GOVERNORS

MANTON TO ADDRESS FEDERAL LEGISLATION COMMITTEE AND BOARD OF GOVERNORS __________________________________________________________ The Honorable Thomas J. Manton (D-NY), a key member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, will address the Board of Governors and the Federal Legislation Committee at a breakfast meeting on Thursday, October 5 at 8:30a.m. Congressman Manton represents the Ninth District of New York (Queens) and was elected to the vacant seat left by Geraldine Ferraro. Congressman Manton was a member of the House Banking Committee (during its consideration of the "Depository Institutions Act") last year before joining the Energy and Commerce Committee. He is expected to give his views on the status/progress of pending financial services deregulation legislation as well as other securities industry issues before the Energy and Commerce Committee, including H.R. 3054, the "Investment Adviser Self- Regulation Act" the SEC-proposed SRO for Investment Advisers, and H.R. 1609, the "Stock Market Reform Act of 1989". He may also discuss the impact of internationalization on legislative and regulatory changes. The breakfast meeting will be held in the Pan American Room at the Capital Hilton and will end before the Board meeting begins. The Capital Hilton is located at 16th & K Streets, N.W.
