FUTURE MEETINGS - 2001/2002

[14062] October 18, 2001 TO: INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 11-01 RE: FUTURE MEETINGS - 2001/2002 As a result of the tragic events of September 11, the International Operations Advisory Committee (“IOAC”) meeting that was cancelled on September 12, 2001 will not be rescheduled this year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please mark your calendar for the 2002 International Operations Advisory Committee meeting dates: February 6 Washington, DC May 1 Bermuda (following ICI/IBA 2002 Globalization of Mutual Funds Conference) September 18 Washington, DC Meeting notices providing details on locations, start times and hotel accommodations will be sent to you approximately six weeks prior to scheduled meeting dates. We are pleased to report that the September 12th vendor presentations have been rescheduled for the February 6, 2002 meeting. Steven K. Miyao, CEO of kasina, LLC will be presenting on European Mutual Fund Distribution and Hubbard R. Garber, CFA of Barrington Partners will be discussing the Development of the Global TA Platform. The IOAC Task Force chaired by Marc Scher of Merrill Lynch is proceeding in finalizing the Committee survey to gather summary data on retail mutual fund products domiciled outside the U.S. that are distributed cross border. The aggregate data will be used to assist the Committee in evaluating the adequacy of clearance and settlement systems used by members, particularly in Europe. The Offshore Fund Characteristics Survey will be available for completion by IOAC on a secure area of the ICI’s member website.
