RE: OCTOBER 4, 2001 MEETING NOTICE
The next meeting of the Bank and Trust Advisory Committee will be held on Thursday,
October 4, 2001 at the Franklin Templeton headquarters located at One Franklin Parkway, San
Mateo, California. The meeting will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a tour of
Franklin Templeton. Attire for the meeting is business casual.
A committee dinner is being planned for the evening of October 3. Further details will
be announced as soon as arrangements with the restaurant are finalized.
We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the San Mateo Marriott Hotel at the rate of
$179 single/double. To make reservations please call 650-653-6000 or 800-228-9290 and ask for a
room in the Investment Company Institute block. Reservations must be made by September 7
to secure the room rate of $179. This room rate is available from October 2-4.
The San Mateo Marriott is located at 1770 South Amphlett Boulevard. It is
approximately 11 minutes by car/cab from the San Francisco International Airport.

Please confirm your attendance at the meeting and the tour by completing the attached
Meeting Response Form (whether or not you plan to attend) and returning it to Agnes Thomas by
September 14, 2001 either by fax (202/326-8314) or return mail.
Please remember that attendance is limited to Committee members or their
designated substitutes only. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved in advance by
the BTAC Chairman or the ICI.
