CHANGE IN LOCATION OF THE OCTOBER BOARD MEETING

| Print
[13867] August 21, 2001 TO: BOARD OF GOVERNORS No. 40-01 RE: CHANGE IN LOCATION OF THE OCTOBER BOARD MEETING Earlier this month we sent you a notice explaining that the October Board meeting was being held at the Ritz-Carlton in Virginia because of expected protests related to the IMF/World Bank meetings being held in Washington. As you may have read, in response to the significant protests that were expected, the IMF and the World Bank have shortened their meetings from seven to two days. Their meetings will now end on Sunday, September 30th. This change allows us to hold the Institute’s Board meeting in ICI’s offices. Therefore we have reserved a block of rooms at: The St. Regis Hotel 923 16th & K Streets, NW Washington, DC 20006 Reservations: (202) 879-6911 Phone: (202) 638-2626 Fax: (202) 638-4231 Standard rooms are available for $265.00 per night. If you have already made your reservations at the Ritz-Carlton please cancel those reservations and rebook a room at the St. Regis or other hotel of your choice in Washington D.C. If you have not yet made your hotel reservations please do so before September 7, 2001. If you experience any difficulty securing a room please contact Ms. Jane Forsythe, 202-326-5934, at the ICI. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, however the Virginia location was chosen to ensure you would not be inconvenienced by the protests. A revised schedule of events is attached. Please note that by returning to Washington D.C., the multi-candidate fundraising event originally scheduled for Friday morning, October 5th will now be held on Thursday evening prior to the Board reception and dinner. If you have any questions regarding the meeting please call Larry Maffia at 202-326- 5857. I look forward to seeing you in October. Matthew P. Fink President Attachment 2 Attachment (in .pdf format)
