SEPTEMBER 12

The meeting on proposed Rule 12d1-1 and the proposed
amendments to Rule 12d3-1, which would allow registered
investment companies to purchase securities issued by foreign
banks and insurance companies and by foreign securities firms,
respectively, has been rescheduled. (The meeting was originally
scheduled for August 29.) The meeting will now be held on
Tuesday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the offices of the
Institute and will follow the special meeting of the
International Funds Task Force scheduled for that morning.
Comment periods for Rule 12d1-1 and Rule 12d3-1 expire
October 2 and October 10, respectively.
