July 18, 1989 TO: BROKER/DEALER ADVISORY COMMITTEE NO. 33-89 RE: 1. AGENDA - JULY 25-26 MEETING IN SOMERSET, NEW JERSEY 2. MINUTES - JUNE 16 MEETING IN BOSTON __________________________________________________________ Enclosed is the agenda for the upcoming Broker/Dealer Advisory Committee (BDAC) meeting which is being held in Somerset, New Jersey. Also enclosed for your review is the Minutes for the June 16 BDAC meeting which was held in Boston. This two-day meeting will be held on July 25 and 26 at the Somerset Hilton which is located at 200 Atrium Drive, Somerset, NJ 08873. The July 25 session will start at 9:30 a.m. in Parlor LM on the Second Floor and is expected to continue until 3:30 p.m. The July 26 session will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Parlor LM on the Second Floor and will be over at approximately 3:00 p.m. Continental breakfast and lunch will be served on both days. Please do not invite outside vendors to this two-day meeting as the sessions are open only to ICI member firms represented on the committee, NSCC and DTC. For your convenience, we have booked sleeping rooms at the Somerset Hilton for the nights of July 24 and 25 at the rate of $85 per night for single and $105 per night for double. The hotel originally agreed to hold the block only until July 9 but have said that they will continue to issue rooms under the block for as long as they have rooms available. So, please call the Somerset Hilton at 201/469-2600 and tell them you want a room in the Merrill Lynch/ICI Conference block. These rooms may not be available indefinitely so we urge you to make your reservations as quickly as possible. Merrill Lynch is inviting you to a casual cocktail reception and outdoor barbecue (weather permitting) on the night of Tuesday, July 25 at the hotel. The reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Should the weather be inclement, the barbecue will be conducted indoors. As Merrill Lynch is hosting this function, it must provide the hotel with a guaranteed head count one week in advance. Accordingly, if you have indicated that you will attend but change your plans, you must let us know in advance so we can adjust the count. -2- For those interested in playing golf, we are arranging an informal outing for Monday afternoon, July 24. Anyone interested should plan to meet in the lobby of the Somerset Hilton at 1:00 p.m. and if there is anyone who has not been contacted but would like to play, they can call either Bob Schultz (212/510-0418) or Bob Doan (201/560-5190). For those of you who have not already done so, please call Rita Pemberton at 202/955-3551 to let her know whether or not you will be attending. (Please note that the shuttle service that we mentioned in our last memo is no longer available.) Donald E. O'Connor Vice President - Operations Enclosures
