The purpose of the workshops is to educate mutual fund and bank and trust operations professionals in the use of technology solutions and other business tools designed to facilitate trust and defined contribution processing and reduce associated costs and risks. As indicated in the attached preliminary program, the workshop will cover trust processing and provide a basic understanding of how trust accounts are processed from a bank, service provider and mutual fund perspective. It will provide an overview of Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation services such as Trust Fund/SERV, Networking and the Defined Contribution Clearance and Settlement Service (DCC&S). The workshops will conclude with a discussion of processing guidelines and agreements between funds, trusts and third party recordkeepers. Panelists will include: Jeff Becker, Vice President - Mutual Fund Development, PFPC Global Funds Services, Inc.; Denise Burton, Account Manager, The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation; Patricia (Patti) Hamel, Manager and AVP of Mutual Fund Trust Operations, Wells Fargo Bank; Nino Palermo, Vice President, American Funds Services; Brian Scribner, Director, The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation; and Gail Weiss, President, Gail Weiss and Associates, Inc. Registration for each workshop will begin at 8:30 am. The program will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at approximately 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. Business attire. Participation in each program is limited, so please register as soon as possible. Registrations will not be accepted by phone. Cancellations received less than five (5) days before the specific program will incur a $100 administrative fee. Notice of cancellation must be received in writing.
