[11467] December 14, 1999 TO: TAX COMMITTEE No. 35-99 RE: SAVE THE DATE--TAX COMMITTEE MEETINGS ON JANUARY 31 AND FEBRUARY 1 ______________________________________________________________________________ The next regularly-scheduled meetings of the Tax Committee will be held in Washington, DC on January 31 and February 1, 2000. Preliminary agendas and response forms will be distributed approximately two weeks before the meetings. Both meetings will be held in the Institute’s David Silver Conference Room, on the 12th floor of our offices at 1401 H Street, NW, Washington DC 20005. The topic of the January 31 meeting will be finalized shortly after the first of the year. If the SEC releases any proposed guidance before the end of January regarding disclosure of after- tax returns to fund shareholders, we will discuss it at the meeting. If no such SEC guidance is proposed, other potential meeting topics include international, legislative and/or diversification issues for funds. If you would like to suggest topics for the January 31 meeting, please contact the undersigned at 202 371-5436, Naomi Camper at 202 326-5821 or Keith Lawson at 202 326-5832. As in the past, the February 1 Tax Committee Meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude with lunch. A dinner for interested Tax Committee members and/or their alternates will be scheduled for January 31. Details regarding the January 31 Tax Committee dinner (the cost of which will be divided among those attending) will be distributed together with the preliminary meeting agendas and response forms.
