[11257] September 20, 1999 TO: INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE No. 40-99 RE: WORLD SERVICES CONGRESS ______________________________________________________________________________ On November 1-3, 1999, the Coalition of Service Industries (CSI) will be holding the first World Services Congress in Atlanta, Georgia. CSI is an association devoted to opening foreign markets to U.S. service businesses, including securities, banking, insurance, and telecommunications. CSI is sponsoring this conference in anticipation of the WTO Services 2000 negotiations. The conference is designed to bring together trade negotiators and private sector companies from around the world. It will serve as a forum for identifying key services issues, providing government officials with service industry concerns, and developing policy recommendations for trade liberalization for the WTO Ministerial. The Institute will be participating in the World Services Congress in Atlanta and is sponsoring a panel entitled "Aging Populations & How the WTO Can Help."
