RE: REMINDER - NOTICE OF MEETING - MAY 4, 1999

A meeting of the Equity Markets Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 4,
1999 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. The
meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the David Silver Conference Room on the 12th floor.
We are pleased to inform you that Alfred R. Berkeley, President, The Nasdaq Stock Market, and
Annette Nazareth, Director, Division of Market Regulation, SEC, will attend part of the meeting. In
addition, we are planning a dinner for Committee members at the Institute following the conclusion of
the meeting.
PLEASE NOTE: The meeting has specifically been scheduled to follow the conclusion of the
meeting of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (“NOIP”), which is scheduled to end
at 2:00 p.m. The Committee meeting therefore will not conflict with the NOIP meeting.
Please indicate in the spaces provided below whether you or an alternate plan to attend the
meeting and the dinner following the meeting. In addition, please provide on the form below any items
that you would like to discuss at the meeting. A draft agenda will follow under separate cover.
