March 31, 1989 TO: RESEARCH COMMITTEE NO. 7-89 RE: RESEARCH COMMITTEE PLANNING MEETING __________________________________________________________ The next meeting of the Research Committee will be held Wednesday, June 14, 1989 in Washington at the ICI Board Room. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m., and continue through lunch to approximately 3:30 p.m. We value your participation in this planning meeting and hope that each of you will be able to attend. The main purpose of the meeting is to set the research agenda for the coming year. Prior to the meeting we will send you background material on proposed projects as well as details on the fixed workload of the department. This material should be reviewed before the meeting so that through discussion we can develop the next year's program. In the next few weeks (before 21 April) we would welcome your suggestions for topics that may lead to research proposals which could be included in the background material. We would prefer to have your suggestions submitted in writing. However, if you are pressed for time you may convey your thoughts to Sandy West by phone (202-293-7700). We hope to see you at the General Membership Meeting in May; at one of our presentations on the Channels of Distribution Research in Boston, New York, or Chicago; and at the June meeting. Feel free to call if you have any questions regarding any of these meetings. Jacob S. Dreyer Vice President and Chief Economist
