[10689] VIA FAX February 2, 1999 TO: SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 6-99 SECURITIES OFFERINGS RULES TASK FORCE RE: MEETING TO DISCUSS SEC PROPOSALS REGARDING THE REGULATION OF SECURITIES OFFERINGS ("AIRCRAFT CARRIER RULES") ______________________________________________________________________________ A meeting to discuss the SEC’s proposals regarding the regulation of securities offerings under the Securities Act of 1933 ("aircraft carrier rules") has been scheduled for Friday, February 19 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the David Silver Conference Room on the 12th floor. Lunch will be served following the meeting. At the meeting, outside counsel will present an overview of the SEC’s proposals and discuss how they affect investment companies. We also will discuss issues that might be addressed in the Institute’s comment letter on the proposals.
