RE: Update Regarding October Board Meeting

At the dinner on October 8th, we have arranged for a panel discussion on the role of private
accounts in Social Security reform. The panel will include former IRS Commissioner, Fred T. Goldberg,
Jr. and former Congressional Budget Office Director, Robert D. Reischauer. Mark Weinberger, who
served as Counsel to the President’s 1994 Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, will
moderate the discussion. Speaker biographies and a GAO report, “Social Security: Different
Approaches for Addressing Program Solvency,” are attached. Also enclosed is a final schedule of events
for October 8th and 9th.
If you have not already done so, please return the attached response form to indicate whether or
not you will be attending the October events.
