Asia Regulatory and Policy Committee

The Asia Regulatory and Policy Committee addresses key regulatory, legislative, and policy issues affecting regulated funds, their management companies, and their investors, as well as retail investors focused on the major jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific.

The Asia Regulatory and Policy Committee (Asia RPC) addresses key regulatory, legislative, and policy issues affecting regulated funds, their management companies, and their investors, as well as retail investors more broadly. Focused on the major jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific region, the committee covers a variety of matters, including the regulation of funds and asset management, retail investment, pensions and retirement investing, sustainable finance, cross-border regulatory trends and developments, challenges associated with extra-territorial effects of national laws and regulations affecting the cross-border investing activities of funds, and other issues related to market access and fund distribution. In conjunction with the Europe Regulatory Policy Committee and relevant working groups, the committee also engages on the activities of international organizations, such as the Financial Stability Board, International Organization of Securities Commissions, and the International Monetary Fund.

Where we expect intensive and/or sustained work on a specific topic, we may create issue-specific working groups. Each working group will focus on a specific subject matter and will inform ICI’s advocacy work on that topic. Working groups will provide updates to the Asia RPC regarding their activities.
