In this two-part series, industry experts explore the role of insurance as a risk transfer and risk management mechanism for funds and directors.    

Part I addressed insurance basics, including:

  • The interplay between indemnification and insurance
  • Different insurance products (e.g., D&O/E&O insurance, IDL insurance, fidelity bonds, and specialty cyber insurance) and their benefits
  • Fund directors’ regulatory obligations
  • “Real world” risks for funds and directors, and how insurance can help address them 

Part II will be offered later this year and will focus on the insurance evaluation and procurement process.
