ICI Statement on the Passing of Former SEC Chairman Pitt

Washington, DC, May 31, 2023—Investment Company Institute (ICI) President and CEO Eric Pan released the following statement on the passing of the 26th Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Harvey L. Pitt:

“ICI is saddened to hear of the passing of the former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Harvey L. Pitt. Chairman Pitt was a lifelong champion of the agency and, most of all, its dedicated employees. He was a great securities lawyer and a friend to many of us who spent time as Commission staff.”
