ICI Statement on the Life and Legacy of President Jimmy Carter

Washington, DC; December 29, 2024—Today, Investment Company Institute (ICI) President and CEO Eric Pan released the following statement on the passing of Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States:

“President Carter devoted his life to public service. He showed that leadership counted in the tough times just as in the good. That informed his outlook and instructed his actions, so that his contributions to his community, country, and world continued to be great even after his term in the White House.

“For years he has been an example and a source of counsel to many. He truly epitomized servant leadership. Our thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace.”
