Washington, DC, April 30, 2018—The Investment Company Institute (ICI) has named Cynthia Pullom as director, financial services policy. She will report to Chief Government Affairs Officers and Co-Heads Donald C. Auerbach and Dean R. Sackett III.
Before joining ICI, Pullom served as chief policy counsel for US Senator Christopher Murphy (D-CT) on matters related to financial services, tax, judiciary, and telecom. She has also worked for Representative Terri Sewell (D-AL) as legislative counsel on financial services, tax, and judiciary issues.
“Cynthia has extensive experience with the type of leading-edge financial services policies that are critical to ICI’s member firms and the 100 million shareholders they represent,” said Auerbach. Sackett added, “Cynthia will be a tremendous asset for ICI’s policy team, and we are very fortunate to have her.”
Before her Capitol Hill service, Pullom served as an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. She graduated summa cum laude from Florida A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in political science; she also holds a JD from Harvard Law School, where she served as an editor for the Harvard Law and Policy Review.
